Choose different colors of food and you will be sure to get a variety of nutrition. Red apples, green beans, yellow corn, purple grapes, brown bread, orange cheese and white milk provide nutrition in all the colors of the rainbow. Let your children help you plan and choose nutritious foods as you shop for family meals at the grocery store. The produce department is a colorful start, offering a tremendous variety of flavors, colors, and textures.
Rainbow soup or salad can be created together. Provide vegetables or fruits in a variety of colors and allow the children to choose which ingredients they would like to add to the pot or bowl.
